Orioles acquired LHP Micah Ashman from the Tigers for RHP Charlie Morton and cash considerations.
The 22-year-old southpaw has had an outstanding season in the minor leagues, registering a 1.49 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and a 50/9 K/BB ratio over 42 1/3 innings in 30 appearances between High-A West Michigan and Double-A Erie. While he wasn’t ranked in the Tigers’ top 30 prospects, he’s a very intriguing arm and makes for a quality addition to the O’s system.
