Dodgers re-signed INF Miguel Rojas to a one-year, $5.5 million contract.
The deal is now official. Rojas returns as an extremely important utility specialist for the back-to-back World Series champions after playing a starring role during the most recent Fall Classic. The 36-year-old veteran gives Los Angeles a decent fallback option at second base and figures to play all over the infield next season. He can be safely ignored in all fantasy formats at this advanced stage of his career.

Daniel Álvarez-Montes of El Extrabase reports that the Dodgers are re-signing Miguel Rojas to a one-year deal.
Álvarez-Montes reports that Rojas will earn $5.5 million, and that this will be the final year before he retires. The 36-year-old was a hero in the World Series for the Dodgers in 2026 while hitting the game-tying homer in the ninth, but he also was a solid utility player for the club prior to that while slashing .262/.318/.397 over 317 at-bats. He likely will serve in the same role in 2026.

Game 7 hero Miguel Rojas said he suffered a rib injury during the Dodgers’ postgame celebration on Friday and didn’t know if he’d be able to play Saturday.
Rojas said he received injections after arriving at the ballpark in the afternoon and additional painkillers before the first pitch. Of course, he suited up afterwards and ended up hitting a game-tying homer in the ninth inning. Had he not been able to go, the Dodgers were planning to activate Michael Conforto for the first time in the postseason.

Miguel Rojas delivered a game-tying homer in the ninth inning of Game 7 of the World Series on Saturday night against the Blue Jays, sparking the Dodgers’ unbelievable come-from-behind extra-inning victory.
The light-hitting 36-year-old infielder stunned the Blue Jays when he launched a full-count slider from closer Jeff Hoffman 387 feet (104.9 mph EV) for a game-tying solo homer with one out in the ninth inning. It was just his second round-tripper since July 19. That unlikely blast — in addition to a phenomenal defensive effort in the bottom of the ninth inning with the bases loaded — set the stage for Will Smith’s extra-inning heroics, as the Dodgers clinched their second consecutive World Series title.

Mookie Betts is batting cleanup for Game 7 of the World Series against the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts will stick with Betts in the cleanup spot for the winner-take-all affair in Toronto after he delivered a two-run single in Game 6 to help Los Angeles keep their season alive. Here’s the full lineup as the Dodgers attempt to repeat as World Series champions: Shohei Ohtani (P/DH), Will Smith (C), Freddie Freeman (1B), Betts (SS), Max Muncy (3B), Teoscar Hernández (RF), Tommy Edman (CF), Enrique Hernández (LF) and Miguel Rojas (2B).

Mookie Betts will move down to the cleanup spot in the Dodgers’ lineup for Game 6 of the World Series against the Blue Jays on Friday night.
With their backs up against the wall and looking to stave off elimination, Dodgers’ skipper Dave Roberts has opted to shake up his lineup a bit. Miguel Rojas will start at second base while Tommy Edman will move out to center field. Here’s the full lineup that the Dodgers will send out against Jays’ right-hander Kevin Gausman: Shohei Ohtani (DH), Will Smith (C), Freddie Freeman (1B), Betts (SS), Teoscar Hernández (RF), Max Muncy (3B), Kiké Hernandez (LF), Tommy Edman (CF) and Miguel Rojas (2B).

Free agent-to-be Miguel Rojas said after Thursday’s game that he hopes to play one more season with the Dodgers and then retire.
One imagines the Dodgers will be amenable to such a plan. After a rough first season back in Los Angeles, Rojas has hit .273/.328/.404 as a part-timer the last two years. He’s earned right around $5 million per year for five straight seasons now, and he should be in line for something similar at age 37.

Will Smith (hand) is not in the lineup for Wednesday’s Game 2 showdown against the Reds.
Enrique Hernández is in the lineup after exiting Tuesday’s Game 1 showdown with a minor back issue. There was some speculation that Smith could be an option to return behind the plate at some point in this series but the Dodgers will continue to roll with defensive specialist Ben Rortvedt handling the catching duties. The 30-year-old backstop hasn’t appeared in a game since September 9 while recovering from a hairline fracture in his throwing hand. Here’s the full lineup: Shohei Ohtani (DH), Mookie Betts (SS), Freddie Freeman (1B), Teoscar Hernández (RF), Max Muncy (3B), Andy Pages (CF), Hernández (LF), Miguel Rojas (2B) and Rortvedt (C).

Tommy Edman is not in the Dodgers’ starting lineup for Thursday night’s tilt against the Giants.
It’s the third time in the Dodgers’ last six games that Edman has found himself on the bench. Miguel Rojas will start in his place at second base and will bat eighth for the Dodgers on Thursday evening against Logan Webb and the Giants.

Filling in for Mookie Betts, Miguel Rojas had two hits and drove in two of the Dodgers’ three runs Wednesday against the Rockies.
There were calls for Rojas to be DFA’d a couple of months ago, but it’s a very good thing the Dodgers kept him; he’s hit ,295/.373/.505 in 119 plate appearances since mid-June.
