Athletics OF prospect Mike Martin ripped a career-high five hits Wednesday in a win for Low-A Beloit.
Martin plated three runs as the Snappers rolled to an 11-3 victory over Quad Cities. All five of his hits were singles. The 23-year-old spent the first two months of the 2016 season in extended spring training following a disappointing performance in the Arizona Fall League (.147 with 25 strikeouts in 75 at-bats). Martin joined the A’s last summer as a 33rd-round draft pick. He played his college ball at Harvard.
