Because the season had been going so well for the Twins as it was, now here’s this: Minnesota has placed closer Glen Perkins on the 15-day disabled list with a left shoulder strain.
It’s unclear how severe this strain is but, like, it’s his shoulder, and that’s always serious for a pitcher. Perkins blew a save in his first opportunity of the season on Sunday against the Royals, allowing two runs on three hits. Figure for now that Kevin Jepsen will take over as the closer.
