Anaheim apparently isn’t done spending yet.
According to MLB.com’s Alden Gonzalez, the Angels are looking to add a free agent reliever to their bullpen and have been in contact recently with the representatives for veteran southpaw Darren Oliver.
Oliver, 41, posted a 2.29 ERA and 44/11 K/BB ratio in 51 innings this past year for the Rangers, holding left-handed hitters to a .227/.269/.318 batting line. Texas has expressed interest in bringing him back, and a few other teams have been in contact.
The Halos already have two lefties in line for 2012 bullpen spots -- Scott Downs and Hisanori Takahashi -- but they’ve made moves of excess in other areas and may do the same in bolstering their relief corps.
