In a minor move designed to add some pitching depth the Blue Jays have acquired right-hander Arnold Leon from the A’s in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Leon was dropped from the 40-man roster by Oakland following the Henderson Alvarez signing last week.

He made his MLB debut last season at age 26 with a 4.39 ERA and 19/9 K/BB ratio in 27 innings spent exclusively as a reliever. Leon has tons of starting experience in the minors, but has generally been more successful working out of the bullpen on the way to posting a 4.35 ERA and in 310 total innings at Triple-A.
