Braves haven’t closed the door on re-signing Michael Bourn

Jim Bowden of ESPN.com and “Inside Pitch” on SiriusXM provides these juicy nuggets:

When the Braves inked B.J. Upton to a five-year, $75.25 million free agent contract back in November, most assumed they were done with big spending. But a market for Bourn has failed to develop -- largely due to the new draft pick compensation system -- and he could suddenly be re-signed at a discounted rate.

Bourn, 30, batted .274/.348/.391 with nine home runs, 57 RBI and 42 stolen bases last season for Atlanta.

An outfield of Upton, Bourn and Jason Heyward could be lethal. Martin Prado would move to third base.
