Chris Herrmann was a client of Dave Stewart when Stewart was a player agent and not the general manager of the Diamondbacks. Now they’re reunited again.

Arizona acquired Herrmann from the Twins on Tuesday night in exchange for minor league first baseman and corner outfielder Daniel Palka, as first reported by the Diamondbacks’ official Twitter account.

Herrmann owns a rough .181/249/.280 career batting line at the major league level and he slashed just .146/.214/.272 this past season for Minnesota, but the 27-year-old catcher could serve as Welington Castillo’s primary backup in 2016.

Palka hit .280/.352/.532 with 29 home runs and 90 RBI this year for the Visalia Rawhide, but he turned 24 years old in October and hasn’t played a game above High-A.

It’s a fairly minor transaction.
