The Dodgers have called up infield prospect Jose Peraza from Triple-A Oklahoma City. He’ll start at second base and bat second in Monday’s home game against the Nationals. The move is in response to second baseman Howie Kendrick going on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring.

Peraza, 21, went to the Dodgers from the Braves as part of the 13-player, three-team trade on July 30 which also included the Marlins. Peraza was rated baseball’s 38th-best prospect in baseball by MLB.com entering the 2015 season.

Peraza hit .294/.318/.379 with three home runs, 37 RBI, and 26 stolen bases in 427 plate appearances with Triple-A Gwinnett prior to the trade. At Oklahoma City, he hit .385/.415/.590 with one home run, four RBI, and a stolen base in 42 PA.
