25-year-old right-hander Lisalverto Bonilla is headed from the Rangers to the Dodgers on a waiver claim, per the Dodgers’ official team Twitter feed.

Bonilla underwent Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery in mid-April and did not throw a pitch at any level of meaningful baseball in 2015, but he carries a decent 3.17 ERA and 10.3 K/9 in 429 minor league innings and could be a nice find for Los Angeles if everything continues to go smoothly with his rehab.

Bonilla will likely open the 2016 season on the disabled list before joining the Dodgers’ Triple-A affiliate. He has experience as both a starter and reliever, and got a cup of coffee in each role with the Rangers in 2014.
