Variety reports that Fox has ordered a new baseball drama, Pitch as a pilot. It’s an hourlong show starring Kylie Bunbury as a young female pitcher who becomes the first woman to play major league baseball.
I am confident that the show will be treated like any other drama and not subject to all kinds of angst my men who take agitated issue with the premise while simultaneously being cool with shows about superheroes and schlubby, unpleasant men who somehow manage to marry beautiful dynamic women and to hold on to them despite their misanthropic schemes. I mean, guys who run 600 m.p.h. and Jamie Gertz being into some pathetic guy is one thing, but a woman athlete?! WHOA, hold the friggin’ phone.
