Gordon Beckham exited last night’s game after tweaking his left wrist on a swing and Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports that the White Sox second baseman “will be out of action on Wednesday and could be sidelined longer after suffering nerve irritation.”
According to Merkin no structural damage was found in an X-ray, but Beckham hasn’t had an MRI exam yet and he’s out indefinitely. “There’s no structural damage, but there is definitely some pain,” Beckham told Merkin. “It’s going to take a couple of days. It hurts now just standing here.”
Jeff Keppinger is expected to shift to second base in Beckham’s absence, with Conor Gillaspie taking over at third base.
