The Indians have named two assistant general managers for the upcoming 2017 season after former assistant GM Derek Falvey was hired by the Twins last month. Carter Hawkins, the Indians’ director of player development from 2015 to 2016, will share duties with former director of baseball operations Matt Forman.

According to MLB.com’s Jordan Bastian, Hawkins will continue to oversee the Indians’ player development department, while Forman will take on additional responsibilities in international and professional player acquisition. Hawkins’ experience with the farm system should mesh well with Forman’s extensive background in scouting, and both assistant GMs are expected to be heavily involved with the Indians’ leadership team.

The Indians have not yet announced whether they’ll hire or promote additional people to fill Hawkins’ and Forman’s former positions. Per Bastian’s report, the club does not expect Twins’ chief baseball officer Derek Falvey to target any members of Cleveland’s front office during the offseason.
