Red Sox outfielder Jackie Bradley, Jr. extended his hitting streak to 27 games on Sunday with a fifth-inning line drive single to right field off of Indians starter Danny Salazar. Bradley had walked and struck out in his previous two trips to the plate.
Coming into Sunday’s game, Bradley was hitting .411/.486/.800 with seven doubles, three triples, eight home runs, 29 RBI, and 17 runs scored in 109 plate appearances during his hitting streak, which began on April 24. The Red Sox entered Sunday 18-8 during Bradley’s hitting streak.
At 27 games, Bradley’s streak is tied for the fifth-longest in Red Sox history. Dom DiMaggio has the longest at 34 games followed by Nomar Garciaparra at 30, Johnny Damon at 29, and Wade Boggs at 28.
