Jean Machi was recently released by the Cubs. He was on a minor league deal and spent the entirety of the season with Triple-A Iowa.

Presumably after drowning his sorrows, Machi was arrested Thursday morning on Third Street in Des Moines for public intoxication and urinating in public, per Tommy Birch of the Des Moines Register.

According to the police report, Machi urinated on the bumper of a car owned by a Stuffed Olive employee. The Stuffed Olive is a restaurant on Third Street. The employee asked Machi to stop, which prompted Machi to challenge the employee to a fight. Machi denied urinating on the car to police.

In 20 games with the Iowa Cubs, Machi put up a 3.68 ERA with a 26/9 K/BB ratio over 29 1/3 innings.
