Jose Altuve in Astros’ lineup after Friday’s collision with Carlos Correa

There was a very scary moment for the Astros on Friday, as second baseman Jose Altuve and shortstop Carlos Correa collided in shallow center field while going after a pop-up. Altuve was forced to exit the game, but he’s back in the lineup this afternoon against the Rangers.

As you can see in the video below, Altuve took a forearm to the face on the play. While he appeared dazed and was stretching out his jaw as he walked off the field, Chandler Rome of MLB.com reports that he showed no signs of a concussion.

The fading Astros are clinging to a half-game lead over the Angels in the AL Wild Card race.
