Mets center fielder Juan Lagares left tonight’s game with a hyper-extended right elbow.

No word yet on how much time the team expects him to miss, but this late in the year obviously any injury could be season-ending.

Lagares has dramatically out-performed expectations offensively this season, hitting .283 with four homers and a .706 OPS in 115 games, and his defense in center field has always been Gold Glove caliber.

Based on Wins Above Replacement--which combines offensive and defensive contributions--he rates as the seventh-best center fielder in baseball this season.
