Some nice news here for the bank account of Angels outfielder Kole Calhoun.
As first noted by Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register, the 28-year-old just barely made the cutoff for Super Two status, giving him four years of arbitration eligibility rather than the usual three. The cutoff this year was 2.130 years of service time, and that’s exactly where Calhoun sits heading into his third full major league season.
The former eighth-round pick figures to get a nice payday in his first turn through salary arbitration after tallying 26 home runs and 83 RBI in 159 games this year -- all career highs.
