Link-O-Rama: All-Stars coming to Kansas City in 2012

* Sam Mellinger of the Kansas City Star reports that MLB will announce soon that the All-Star game is headed to Kansas City in 2012. Mellinger adds: “It will be our first national sporting event since the Final Four in 1988, and it very well could be our last for decades.”

* Padres prospect Chad Huffman won the Triple-A version of the Home Run Derby last night, collecting $1,000 and a new laptop for his efforts. Huffman is a 24-year-old left fielder who’s hitting .250/.343/.443 at Triple-A after batting .280/.377/.422 at Double-A, so last night has a pretty good chance of being the highlight of his career.

* Cuban defector Aroldis Chapman has signed with an agent and the 21-year-old southpaw will presumably now establish residency outside of the United States to become a free agent.

* Indian reality show contestant turned Pirates pitching prospect Rinku Singh struck out the only batter he faced last night to pick up his first professional victory.
