Mike Leake who, like seemingly everyone else on the Reds, is on the trading block turned in an excellent performance this afternoon, allowing one runs on four hits over eight innings in the Reds’ 9-1 win over the Chicago Cubs.
It was the first in a twinbill between these two teams but it could quite have easily been Leake’s last start in Cincinnati as a member of the Reds. Leake will be a free agent after the season and the Reds are going nowhere, so he’s likely to be in high demand given his that he’s given up just two runs in his last 21 innings.
