There was no dissension in the ranks of MLB ownership, as the new labor deal was approved by all 30 owners in a conference call Thursday.
The MLBPA ratified the agreement back on Dec. 1, so the deal is now essentially official, though the labor contract itself is still being drafted.
The agreement is good for five years and lasts through 2016, meaning baseball will be working on a streak of 21 years of labor peace when it’s time to start haggling again.
