Rainout throws a wrench in Braves’ plans

A few storm clouds are making their way across southern Florida this evening and the Braves’ scheduled spring game against the Yankees has been canceled.

Jair Jurrjens was slated to make his debut in the contest, but, according to Knox Bardeen of AOL Fanhouse, that outing has simply been pushed back to Friday. He will piggyback with Tommy Hanson, who is making his third Grapefruit League appearance and is expected to throw four innings. Jurrjens was slowed early in camp by shoulder inflammation but appears to be on track for the start of the regular season.

Jurrjens, a 24-year-old righty, compiled a 14-10 record, 2.60 ERA and 1.21 WHIP last season for Atlanta.
