Unable to find a taker for him via trade, the Rangers have released veteran left-hander Wandy Rodriguez.
Rodriguez started 15 total games for Texas and pitched very well early on, but dating back to mid-June he allowed 24 runs in 22 innings while opponents hit .402 off him.
At age 36 this could be the end of the road for Rodriguez, but it’s possible he could latch on with another team in need of rotation help. He’s logged 1,557 career innings with a 4.10 ERA in 11 seasons as a big leaguer.
