The Rockies placed left-fielder Corey Dickerson on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday so he can deal with a lingering case of plantar fasciitis in his left foot. Colorado called up utility outfielder Ben Paulsen to take Dickerson’s place.
Dickerson has been bothered by the plantar fasciitis for much of the season and he had a bad flareup over the weekend. “When I stopped on my toes, it felt like a tearing sensation, a burning, like somebody lit your heel on fire,” the 25-year-old told reporters Tuesday.
Dickerson was batting .306/.342/.523 with five home runs and 16 RBI through 33 games this year.
The budding star hit .312/.364/.567 with 24 home runs and 76 RBI in 131 games last season.
