Brewers outfielder Rymer Liriano was hit in the face by a pitch from Dodgers pitcher Matt West in the eighth inning of Sunday’s Cactus League game. Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel provided minute-by-minute details of the situation, which included Liriano being immobilized and put on a stretcher. He says it “appears to be a serious situation”.

MLB.com’s Adam McCalvy wrote on Twitter that it appeared Liriano was hit under the lid of his helmet, near his left eye.

This post will be updated with more details about Liriano’s situation as they become known. We’re certainly hoping for good news.
