The Kansas City Royals have the best farm system in all of baseball. The big club though? Let’s just say that it hasn’t improved much this winter. Dayton Moore has signed third baseman Pedro Feliz to a minor league contract.
It’s not big money -- only a million bucks if he makes the team and earns all of his incentives -- and signing a bad player to a one-year deal is way better than the Royals’ old habit of signing bad players to multi-year deals. But still Feliz hit a mere .218/.240/.293 with the Astros and Cardinals last season. Jeff Francoeur is going to watch Feliz hit and says “dude ... I mean, dude.”
