The Detroit Tigers have placed first baseman Miguel Cabrera on the 10-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain.

Cabrera suffered the injury running the bases during Thursday’s game against the Royals. It’s unclear at this point how long he might be sidelined. As he goes on the shelf Cabrera is hitting .323/.407/.516 with three homers and 21 RBI. It was a nice bounce back year for the two-time MVP until this injury, so hopefully it’s not terribly serious.

John Hicks will likely get most of the starts at first base for the Tigers while Cabrera heals.
