Blue Jays shortstop Troy Tulowitzki had his biggest test yet this afternoon as he rehabs from a small crack in his left shoulder blade, as John Lott of the National Post reports that he took about 40 swings in the indoor cage and felt good.

Tulowitzki hasn’t played since his collision with teammate Kevin Pillar on September 12, but he hopes to return at some point during this week’s series against the Orioles. As for the playoffs, he said he’ll “definitely” be ready.

Tulowitzki, who was acquired from the Rockies on July 28, was batting .232/.314/.368 with five home runs and 17 RBI over 39 games with Toronto prior to the injury. Ryan Goins has been filling in at shortstop.
