Reds acquired INF Nick Northcut from the Red Sox as the player to be named later in the Tommy Pham trade.
Pham was dealt to Boston at the August 2 trade deadline in what is now officially a one-for-one, player-for-player swap. Northcut, an 11th-round pick in the 2018 MLB Draft out of a high school in Ohio, has batted .219/.276/.491 with 30 home runs (and 151 strikeouts) in 103 games this season between High-A and Double-A. He turned 23 years old in June.
