    Reds released OF Nick Plummer.
Plummer got into 14 games last year for the Mets and made it into only six Cactus League contests this spring with the Reds. The 26-year-old former first-round pick should be able to find a new opportunity somewhere else.

Reds signed OF Nick Plummer to a minor league contract.
The deal presumably also includes an invitation to spring training. Plummer, a former first-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2015, latched on with the Mets last year and wound up getting into 14 contests, tallying four hits in 29 at-bats, including a pair of home runs. The 26-year-old outfielder has a decent shot at making the rebuilding Reds’ season-opening roster as a reserve outfielder, especially with center fielder Nick Senzel still recovering from toe surgery.

Mets sent OF Nick Plummer outright to Triple-A Buffalo.
Plummer passed through waivers unclaimed and will remain in the organization. He has just a .687 OPS this season at Buffalo and a .573 OPS with the Mets.

Mets designated OF Nick Plummer for assignment.
Plummer, a former first-round pick of the Cardinals, was batting just .232/.317/.370 across 58 total games (276 plate appearances) this season at Triple-A Syracuse. He made his MLB debut in April and had some big hits when he got called back up for a second time in May, but now the 26-year-old heads into DFA limbo.

Mets optioned OF Nick Plummer to Triple-A Syracuse.
Plummer had some big hits upon his initial callup to the Mets last month, but the 25-year-old former first-round pick of the Cardinals will head back to the minors showing just a .138/.194/.379 batting line with 12 strikeouts through his first 31 major league plate appearances.

Mark Canha is getting the day off on Tuesday against the Brewers.
Canha will get an extra day of rest during Tuesday’s series opener against Milwaukee as manager Buck Showalter gets reserve outfielder Nick Plummer’s lefty bat into the lineup to face righty Adrian Houser.

Nick Plumer homered, drove in four runs and went 3-for-4 Monday in the Mets’ 13-5 crushing of the Nationals.
Plummer tied the game at 3-3 with a double that scored Mark Canha in the second inning. His homer was an opposite-field shot in the fourth with two runners on that extended the Mets’ lead to 12-3 and cemented the rout. A former first-round pick, Plummer has looked the part in a very small sample for the Mets, and is a bat that is worth monitoring in keeper leagues. His redraft value will depend on how much playing time he will get going forward.

Brandon Nimmo (wrist) is not in the Mets’ lineup Monday.
It’s the third straight start Nimmo has missed with a wrist injury which has been bothering him for a while. Tuesday figures to be an important day since the Mets would be able to backdate an injured list stint three days. Mark Canha will again slide over to center field and Nick Plummer will cover left.

Nick Plummer socked a game-tying solo home run off of Corey Knebel in the ninth inning on Sunday night as the Mets rallied to beat the Phillies in extra innings.
Plummer had been 0-for-3 on the night, but he wasted no time jumping on the first pitch that Corey Knebel threw to begin the ninth inning -- crushing a 95.5 mph fastball for a 389-foot game-tying shot. It was the 25-year-old’s first big league hit and one that he’ll certainly always remember.

Mets recalled OF Nick Plummer from Triple-A Syracuse.
Nick Plummer should provide the Mets with some outfield depth. The 25-year-old is hitting .250/.313/.511 with six bombs and two stolen bases in his 99 plate appearances in Syracuse.
