Guardians returned Rule 5 pick RHP Peyton Pallette to the White Sox.
The Rule 5 pick passed through waivers unclaimed and has been returned to the White Sox after being designated for assignment last weekend. The 25-year-old hurler will report to Triple-A Charlotte.
  • CLE Relief Pitcher #41
Guardians designated RHP Peyton Pallette for assignment.
Pallette navigated a scoreless inning for the Guardians on Saturday, but did so while issuing three free passes and that appears to have been the final straw. The Rule 5 pick will head back to the White Sox if he passes through waivers unclaimed.
  • CLE Relief Pitcher #41
Guardians activated RHP Peyton Pallette from the paternity list.
The 25-year-old right-hander was away from the club for a couple of days as he welcomed a new addition to the family. The Rule-5 pick has registered a 5.49 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and a 21/13 K/BB ratio over 19 2/3 innings during his time with the Guardians this season.
  • CLE Relief Pitcher #41
Guardians placed RHP Peyton Pallette on the paternity list.
Pallette will be away from the club for a couple days on paternity leave. The 25-year-old rookie reliever has posted a respectable 5.49 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 21/13 K/BB ratio across 19 2/3 innings this season as a Rule 5 pick from the White Sox.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher
Guardians selected RHP Peyton Pallette from the White Sox with the ninth pick of the Rule 5 Draft.
Pallette was a second-round pick out of Arkansas in 2022, and the 24-year-old showed some swing-and-miss stuff with 86 strikeouts over 64 1/3 innings with Double-A Birmingham and Triple-A Charlotte. He’ll have a shot to win a bullpen job with Cleveland if he pitches well in the Cactus League, but it’s an uphill battle.
  • CWS Catcher #89
White Sox reassigned RHP Mason Adams, RHP Justin Dunn, RHP Peyton Pallette, RHP Jonathan Heasley, C Kyle Teel, C Edgar Quero, IF Andre Lipcius, OF Cal Mitchell, OF Zach DeLoach and OF Corey Julks to minor league camp.
Teel and Quero are the big names here, as they are two of the top catching prospects in baseball. Both have a chance to make their MLB debut this summer, with Teel being the better bet for fantasy success early on. That’s more compliment to Teel than insult to Quero.
