Abner

Abner was cut loose from New York’s 40-man roster earlier this week. The 24-year-old lefty posted an inflated 7.11 ERA across 19 innings between the Giants and Diamondbacks this past season.

Pache was the only one who had been announced as being waived, as he was bumped from the roster to make room for Kyren Paris. Still, there are no surprises here. Wagaman, who hit .191/.269/.319 in 26 games for the Mets last season, and Pache will become free agents, while Abner and Weston will remain in the organization since this is their first time clearing waivers and they don’t qualify for minor league free agency.

Abner is a worthwhile depth pickup for the Mets that they may be able to stash heading into the offseason. The 24-year-old southpaw has posted an inflated 7.11 ERA across 19 innings between the Giants and Diamondbacks this season.

Abner loses his spot on San Francisco’s 40-man roster with outfield prospect Bo Davidson ascending to the majors. The 24-year-old lefty made five appearances for the Giants after being claimed off waivers from the Diamondbacks in mid-August.

The 24-year-old southpaw made five appearances during his brief time with the Giants, registering an uninspiring 9.64 ERA, 2.14 WHIP and a 4/3 K/BB ratio over 4 2/3 innings. He’ll continue to hone his craft at the Triple-A level.

Abner gets his first chance with San Francisco leading into Monday’s series opener against the Reds. The 24-year-old lefty was claimed off waivers from the division-rival Diamondbacks last month after posting an underwhelming 6.28 ERA across 14 1/3 innings of work this season.

Abner heads to Triple-A Sacramento as organizational relief depth after being jettisoned from Arizona’s roster over the weekend. The 24-year-old southpaw recorded a lackluster 6.28 ERA across 14 1/3 innings for the Diamondbacks earlier this season.

Abner has struggled in eight appearances with the Diamondbacks this season, posting a 6.28 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and a 6/8 K/BB ratio across 14 1/3 innings of work. It feels like there’s a decent chance he may pass through waivers unclaimed. Dennis Santana was added to the Diamondbacks’ bullpen in a corresponding move on Sunday.

Abner returns to Arizona’s bullpen mix with veteran Ryan Thompson hitting the shelf with a back issue. The 24-year-old southpaw has allowed seven runs across 9 1/3 innings at the highest level this season.

Abner retreats to the minors after tossing a pair of scoreless innings against the Cardinals on Sunday. The 24-year-old rookie has allowed seven runs across 9 1/3 innings for the Diamondbacks this season.
