    Guardians released LHP Phillip Diehl.
Diehl inked a minor league contract with the Guardians back in February and never wound up making it to Cleveland. The 29-year-old southpaw made five relief appearances last year for the Mets after being acquired from the Reds at the trade deadline for outfielder Tyler Naquin.

Guardians signed LHP Phillip Diehl to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Diehl made five relief appearances for the Mets last season after being acquired from the Reds in a late-July deal centered around outfielder Tyler Naquin. The 28-year-old southpaw provides the Guardians with some extra left-handed relief depth and will compete this spring in the Cactus League for a spot in Cleveland’s season-opening bullpen.

Philip Diehl has elected free agency.
Diehl was acquired from the Reds at the trade deadline in the Tyler Naquin trade and didn’t end up making an appearance for the Mets. The 27-year-old left-hander has made 21 relief appearances in the majors since 2019.

Mets acquired LHP Phillip Diehl from the Reds in a four-player deal.
Diehl gave up seven runs in 5 2/3 innings in five appearances for the Reds before being designated for assignment. He’ll be depth for the final two months.

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the Mets are acquiring Tyler Naquin and Phillip Diehl from the Reds.
Mark Feinsand of MLB Network reports that the Mets will send minor leaguers Jose Acuna and Hector Rodriguez to the Reds. Naquin hit a two-run homer in what will now be his final game as a member of the Reds, and posted a .749 OPS in his 56 games. Diehl adds organizational depth to the pitching staff. Naquin should be a solid bench option while a member of the New York lineup, and is scheduled to hit free agency at the end of the 2022 season.

Reds sent LHP Phillip Diehl outright to Triple-A Louisville.
Diehl passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment earlier this week and will remain with the Reds as organizational relief depth. The 27-year-old lefty allowed seven runs on eight hits with a 3/3 K/BB ratio across 5 2/3 innings (five appearances) at the major-league level.

Reds designated LHP Philip Diehl for assignment.
Diehl has been removed from the Reds’ 40-man roster to make room for Luis Castillo to return to Cincinnati’s rotation. The 27-year-old left-hander allowed seven runs on eight hits with a 3/3 K/BB ratio across 5 2/3 innings (five appearances) this season. There’s a decent chance that he passes through waivers unclaimed.

Reds purchased the contract of LHP Phillip Diehl from Triple-A Louisville.
Cincinnati already cleared out a 40-man roster spot in designating JT Riddle for assignment on Tuesday. Diehl will jump into the bullpen Wednesday versus the Padres, looking to make his first MLB appearance since 2020.

    C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic hears that the Reds are calling up Phillip Diehl.
Diehl, a Cincinnati native, figures to operate in a low-leverage relief role. The 27-year-old left-hander hasn’t appeared in a major league game since 2020 and holds a career 8.78 ERA in 13 1/3 big league innings.

Reds reassigned RHPs Kyle Zimmer, Ben Lively and Graham Ashcraft and LHP Philip Diehl to minor league camp.
No real surprises among the latest round of cuts from Reds’ major-league camp this spring. Their camp roster is down to 43 players. Zimmer is the most prominent name by a considerable margin. The 30-year-old righty figures to get a shot in Cincinnati’s bullpen at some point this season.
