Knehr

Knehr made 18 relief appearances at the Triple-A level in the Padres system last year. The 29-year-old former starter bolsters Milwaukee’s depth at Triple-A Nashville. He last appeared in the majors back in 2023 before suffering an elbow injury.

Knehr continues to work his way back from a right elbow injury that caused him to miss all of last season. The 28-year-old right-hander made 21 appearances (seven starts) for San Diego from 2021-2023, posting a lackluster 5.96 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 34/29 K/BB ratio across 48 1/3 innings of work.

The 27-year-old hurler finished the 2023 season on the 60-day injured list after suffering a right elbow strain in June. He’s expected to be able to go through his regular offseason throwing program and is expected to be a full-go for spring training.

The 30-year-old right-hander finished the season on the injured list with a shoulder issue, but nearly made it back in late September. He should be able to participate in his regular offseason throwing program and is expected to enter spring training at full strength.

Knehr landed on the injured list last month with a right elbow strain and will likely wind up missing the remainder of the season. The procedural move opens up a spot on San Diego’s 40-man roster.

Not great. Knehr experienced some elbow discomfort towards the conclusion of Tuesday’s spot start against the Pirates and appears likely to require a lengthy absence.

It’s a bit unclear exactly how long Darvish will wind up being sidelined at this juncture. There should be some clarity on his status shortly. It’ll be Reiss Knehr taking the ball on Tuesday evening for an emergency spot start in Pittsburgh.

The 26-year-old returns to the majors on Sunday. Knehr has pitched well as a reliever at Triple-A El Paso, posting a 3.93 ERA and 1.17 WHIP. He will pitch in low-leverage situations while he is with the team.

The Padres needed to free up a spot on the active roster for Joe Musgrove who was returning from the injured list on Saturday, and it looks like Knehr was the odd-man out this time around. The 26-year-old hurler registered an unsightly 12.27 ERA, 1.91 WHIP and a 3/3 K/BB ratio over 3 2/3 innings with the big league club.

Knehr posted a 5.40 ERA, 1.65 WHIP, and 10/4 K/BB ratio across three appearances at Triple-A El Paso. He will pitch in low-leverage situations while he is with the team.
