Ramírez made two relief appearances in the majors over a two-year span for the Cardinals between the 2020 and 2021 campaigns. The 27-year-old righty put up an impressive 1.17 ERA with a 22/1 K/BB ratio across 15 1/3 innings this season for the Toros de Tijuana of the independent Mexican League. He’s an interesting low-risk gamble for the Braves as organizational relief depth.

Ramírez has refused an outright assignment and will become a free agent. The 26-year-old righty made 12 relief appearances at Triple-A Syracuse this past season. His lone big-league appearance came with the Cardinals back in late June.

Ramirez was designated for assignment earlier in the week, but passed through waivers without being claimed. He’ll continue to serve as additional bullpen depth for the Mets at Triple-A.

Ramirez was just claimed off waivers from the Cardinals last week, but he’ll get the boot to clear out a 40-man roster spot for Jerad Eickhoff, who is starting for the Mets on Tuesday night against the Braves.

Ramirez has allowed a whopping nine earned runs in one career major league inning covering two relief appearances, but his minor league numbers do tell a more promising story. The 26-year-old right-hander will function as organizational bullpen depth for New York.

Ramírez was shipped out to create a roster spot for veteran righty reliever Justin Miller, who was gobbled up off waivers from the Nationals on Friday night. The 26-year-old righty recorded only one out and allowed three runs in his lone appearance for the Cardinals last month.

Ramirez was rocked for six runs in his major league debut last season and lost his spot on the 40-man roster not long after that. The 26-year-old has made it back now, though, after holding a 4.67 ERA and 27/8 K/BB ratio over 27 innings for Memphis.

Ramirez had made just one appearance with St. Louis this season and got charged with six earned runs while recording only two outs. The 25-year-old seems likely to pass through waivers unclaimed.

Ramirez was greeted rudely in his major league debut against the White Sox on Sunday, giving up four straight homers. He’ll now wait for his next opportunity to show what he’s got.

Ramirez will be available out of the Cardinals’ bullpen when they resume their season this Friday against the Cubs. He was acquired from the Rays in the Tommy Pham trade in July 2018.
