Giants signed LHP Ryan Borucki to a one-year deal.
Borucki not only gets an MLB deal after opting out of his minor league contract with the White Sox, but he gets to play for a much better team in the process. Win-win. The 31-year-old will operate in the middle innings for San Francisco to begin 2026 .
  • CWS Relief Pitcher #39
White Sox released RHP Lucas Sims, RHP Austin Voth, LHP Ryan Borucki and INF LaMonte Wade Jr.
All four players were signed to minor-league contracts with invites to spring training, and all four will be given a chance to play elsewhere rather than reassigned to minor-league camp. Wade has the most MLB success for the four, and his ability to hit left-handed pitching makes him likely to find a new landing spot relatively quickly.

White Sox signed LHP Ryan Borucki to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The 31-year-old southpaw appeared in 39 ballgames between the Pirates and Blue Jays in 2025, registering a 4.63 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and a 32/16 K/BB ratio over 35 innings. With a strong showing in Cactus League play, he should have a nice shot at landing a spot in the White Sox’ Opening Day bullpen.

Blue Jays LHP Ryan Borucki elected free agency.
Borucki made four scoreless relief appearances for the Blue Jays after latching on with the club in late August following his release from the Pirates. The 31-year-old southpaw stuck around through the conclusion of the club’s World Series run and will now test the open market. He should be able to latch on somewhere as organizational left-handed depth.
  • TOR Relief Pitcher #35
Blue Jays sent LHP Ryan Borucki outright to Triple-A Buffalo.
The 31-year-old southpaw was removed from the Jays’ active and 40-man roster earlier in the week to make room for rookie sensation Trey Yesavage. He passed through waivers unclaimed though and will continue to function as extra bullpen depth at the Triple-A level.
  • TOR Relief Pitcher #35
Blue Jays designated LHP Ryan Borucki for assignment.
Borucki has been removed from Toronto’s active roster to clear space for top pitching prospect Trey Yesavage. The 31-year-old southpaw tossed 4 1/3 scoreless frames over four appearances for the Blue Jays after signing with the club back in late August.
  • TOR Relief Pitcher #43
Blue Jays selected the contract of LHP Ryan Borucki from Triple-A Buffalo.
Borucki joins Toronto’s relief corps prior to Tuesday’s contest against the Reds just a couple days after latching on with the club on a minor league pact. The 31-year-old southpaw was cut loose last week by the Pirates. He spent the first five seasons of his big-league career with the Blue Jays from 2018-2022, making 75 appearances (19 starts) during that span.

Blue Jays signed LHP Ryan Borucki to a minor league contract.
Borucki was recently released by the Pirates after posting a 5.28 ERA in 35 relief appearances. He returns now to the organization that drafted him in 2012. He had a 4.47 ERA in 151 innings for the Jays from 2018 until being traded to the Mariners in 2022.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #43
    Pirates released LHP Ryan Borucki.
Borucki went unclaimed on waivers after posting a lackluster 5.28 ERA across 30 2/3 innings (35 appearances) this season. The 31-year-old southpaw should be able to latch on somewhere else as emergency relief depth.
  • PIT Relief Pitcher #43
Pirates designated LHP Ryan Borucki for assignment.
Borucki will hit the waiver wire after the Pirates brought in two new arms for their bullpen. The 31-year-old would have the option to report back to Triple-A Indianapolis or test free agency if he goes unclaimed.
