Dodgers optioned OF Michael Siani and RHP Paul Gervase to Triple-A Oklahoma City; reassigned LHP Cole Irvin, RHP Ryder Ryan, INF Noah Miller, OFs Zyhir Hope, Zach Ehrhard and James Tibbs III to minor league camp.
Siani is the most prominent inclusion among the big leaguers in this latest batch of cuts from Dodgers camp. The 26-year-old defensive specialist figures to be up with Los Angeles at some point in a bench role. Hope is the biggest prospect in this group as he ranks right up there with Eduardo Quintero, Josue De Paula and Mike Sirota as one of the organization’s top prospects.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #80
Ryder Ryan pitched well during Friday’s Cactus League start against the Dodgers, allowing just two walks over two scoreless innings.
The 30-year-old hurler struck out one batter on the evening and did not allow a hit. Ryan got just one whiff on 21 pitches in the contest, posting a CSW of 29 percent. Regardless of how well he pitches this spring, he’s likely ticketed for a spot in the bullpen at Triple-A Oklahoma City to begin the 2026 campaign.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #80
Dodgers signed RHP Ryder Ryan to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Ryan, 30, had a 5.66 ERA in 20 2/3 innings for the Pirates in 2024 and then spent all of last season with the club’s Triple-A team, finishing with a 4.73 ERA and a 61/38 K/BB in 72 1/3 innings. He’ll probably share a roster spot with younger brother River on the Dodgers’ Triple-A team this year.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #67
Pirates optioned RHP Braxton Ashcraft, RHP Mike Burrows, RHP Chase Shugart, INF Liover Peguero, INF Tsung-Che Cheng and INF/OF Enmanuel Valdez to Triple-A Indianapolis; reassigned RHP Isaac Mattson, RHP Ryder Ryan, RHP Eddy Yean, C Aaron McKeithan, C Omar Alfonzo and INF Malcom Nuñez to minor league camp.
No real surprises here as Pittsburgh begins to pare down its spring training roster. Ashcraft is the most notable inclusion since he figures to be an option for the Pirates at some point later this season. Valdez could be an option at the keystone if injuries strike at the big-league level.
  • PIT Relief Pitcher #72
Pirates re-signed RHP Ryder Ryan to minors deal with an invitation to spring training.
Ryan was with the Pirates last season, pitching to a 5.66 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, and 17/9 K/BB ratio in 20 2/3 innings out of the bullpen. The 29-year-old will serve as organizational bullpen depth again.
  • PIT Relief Pitcher #72
Pirates sent RHP Ryder Ryan outright to Triple-A Indianapolis.
Ryan predictably went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment earlier this week and will head back to the minors. The 29-year-old righty has made 15 relief appearances this season for the Pirates.
  • PIT Relief Pitcher #72
Pirates designated RHP Ryder Ryan for assignment.
For the second time in three weeks. Ryan cleared waivers last time, got called up on Aug. 13 and allowed three runs over 3 2/3 innings through two appearances. If he clears waivers again this time, he could opt for free agency.
  • PIT Relief Pitcher #72

Ryan is rejoining the bullpen for now. He has a 5.29 ERA in 13 relief appearances for the Pirates this season.
  • PIT Relief Pitcher #72

  • PIT Relief Pitcher #72
Pirates designated RHP Ryder Ryan for assignment.
Ryan was designated for assignment at the trade deadline to clear a spot on Pittsburgh’s 40-man roster and will most likely wind up going unclaimed on waivers. The 29-year-old righty has made 13 relief appearances this season in the big leagues.
