White Sox acquired OF Samuel Zavala and RHPs Drew Thorpe, Jairo Iriarte and Steven Wilson from the Padres for RHP Dylan Cease.
Zavala is the wild card in the deal as he has a chance to evolve into one of the top prospects in Chicago’s system, if he isn’t already. The 19-year-old outfielder is incredibly talented for his age, which gives him a chance to move quickly through Chicago’s system, after posting a .797 OPS with 14 homers and 21 steals across 515 plate appearances last year between Single-A Lake Elsinore and High-A Fort Wayne. He’s a name fantasy managers in keeper and dynasty league formats should be familiar with already.
