Nationals signed RHP Scott Copeland to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Copeland made one scoreless relief appearance with the Mets in 2018 and had a 3.43 ERA in 22 starts between Double-A Binghamton and Triple-A Las Vegas. The 31-year-old right-hander could turn out to be a nice depth piece for Washington this summer, but he probably won’t be in consideration for the Opening Day roster.

Blue Jays signed RHP Scott Copeland to a minor league contract.
Copeland returns to the Blue Jays, who sold his rights to the LG Twins of the Korean Baseball Organization back in April. The 28-year-old hurler registered a 5.54 ERA, 1.78 WHIP and 34/42 K/BB ratio over 63 1/3 innings in Korea. He’ll provide organizational depth for the Jays.

Marlins signed RHP Scott Copeland to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The 29-year-old Copeland began last season with the Korea Baseball Organization before returning to the Blue Jays, where he posted a 3.04 ERA over nine starts at the Triple-A level. He’ll provide some rotation depth going into spring training.

Scott Copeland started versus the Astros on Saturday and shut them out for three innings in a 4-2 Marlins win.
He had given up five runs in his first three spring innings. Copeland split last season between the Korean Baseball Organization and the Blue Jays’ Triple-A squad. He saw some brief big-league action with the Jays in 2015. He will serve as starting depth at Triple-A for the Marlins this year.

Blue Jays recalled RHP Scott Copeland from Triple-A Buffalo.
Copeland has tossed three scoreless innings in a couple of stints with the big club this season. He’ll operate in middle relief.

Aaron Sanchez’s next scheduled start has been pushed back to next Tuesday due to “overall body soreness,” according to Blue Jays manager John Gibbons.
Sanchez had been slated to take the ball on Wednesday but Scott Copeland will make a spot start instead. It doesn’t sound like anything to worry about, and this also allows the Jays to keep his workload down a bit.

Scott Copeland will make a spot start on Wednesday versus the Marlins.
He’s filling in for Aaron Sanchez, who is battling “overall body soreness,” according to Blue Jays manager John Gibbons. Both of Copeland’s appearances with the Jays this season have come in relief, but he’s posted a 1.97 ERA while making seven starts and one relief appearance at Triple-A Buffalo. He should be sent down after the start and fantasy owners can steer clear of him.

Making a spot start, Scott Copeland limited the Marlins to one run over seven innings Wednesday in a 7-2 victory.
He struck out four, didn’t walk anyone and gave up six hits, with Ichiro Suzuki’s RBI triple in the fifth inning representing the only blemish. Copeland was making a spot start while Aaron Sanchez battles some soreness and should be sent back down soon. He could have earned himself another shot in the future, though.

Blue Jays optioned RHP Scott Copeland to Triple-A Buffalo.
Baseball can be cruel. Copeland was terrific in his first major league start Wednesday, holding the Marlins to one run over seven innings. He knew going in it was just a spot start, though, so he’ll now head back to Buffalo.

Scott Copeland will start for the Blue Jays on Tuesday in place of the injured Aaron Sanchez.
Copeland will be recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday. He pitched well in a spot start for the Jays on Wednesday, allowing just one run over seven innings against the Marlins. He could be worth a look as a streaming option against the Mets.
