Shane Lindsay allowed three runs -- two earned -- in five innings for SS Single-A Tri City yesterday in his 2006 debut.
Lindsay, who emerged as one of the Rockies’ top pitching prospects last year, is returning from a partially torn labrum he was diagnosed with in December. He opted for rehab instead of surgery to treat the injury. Depending on how he feels over the rest of the season, surgery might yet be a possibility.

    Dodgers released RHP Shane Lindsay.
Lindsay is a hard-thrower but earned his walking papers after issuing 12 free passes in nine innings for Triple-A Albuquerque. The 27-year-old will look to catch on elsewhere.

White Sox sent RHP Shane Lindsay outright to Triple-A Charlotte.
Lindsay struggled in four games with the major league club but held a 1.98 ERA and 11.0 K/9 rate at Charlotte, though that also came along with a 7.2 BB/9 rate. Control issues have long been a problem for the 26-year-old, but he has a good enough arm that he’ll catch on somewhere if the Sox don’t keep him around.

Yankees claimed RHP Shane Lindsay off waivers from the Rockies.
We’re surprised Lindsey made it so far on waivers, given his stuff. Still, he’s a 25-year-old with a long injury history and he was off to a disappointing beginning in 2010. The former starter had a 6.59 ERA and a 19/17 K/BB ratio in 13 2/3 innings for Triple-A Colorado Springs. The Yankees figure to keep him in the pen in Triple-A.

Shane Lindsay earned a save by pitching two scoreless innings Thursday for Waikiki of the Hawaiian Winter League.
Lindsay, who missed the entire season after labrum surgery, has given up 10 earned runs and walked 10 in nine innings in Hawaii. The Rockies’ only priority is that he gets through the rest of the season healthy. He was one of their top young pitching prospects before first hurting his shoulder a couple of years ago.
