Angels selected the contract of LHP Tayler Saucedo from Triple-A Salt Lake.

The 32-year-old southpaw will add a fresh arm to the Halos’ bullpen for at least a few days while the team decides how they want to handle the vacancy in their starting rotation due to the injury to Yusei Kikuchi (shoulder). Saucedo had posted a 4.30 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and a 15/11 K/BB ratio over 14 2/3 innings in his 12 appearances at the Triple-A level. He’ll work in middle relief for the Angels.

Angels reassigned OF Jose Siri and LHP Tayler Saucedo to minor league camp.

Siri, 30, could’ve competed for a bench spot on the team’s Opening Day roster with a strong showing during Cactus League play, but he hit just .194 (7-for-36) with one RBI, one stolen base and a 12/1 K/BB ratio. He’ll begin the season as extra outfield depth at the Triple-A level.

Angels signed LHP Tayler Saucedo to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

With a strong showing in Cactus League play, he could crack the Halos’ Opening Day bullpen in a middle relief role.
