Siri, 30, could’ve competed for a bench spot on the team’s Opening Day roster with a strong showing during Cactus League play, but he hit just .194 (7-for-36) with one RBI, one stolen base and a 12/1 K/BB ratio. He’ll begin the season as extra outfield depth at the Triple-A level.

The 32-year-old southpaw was non-tendered by the Mariners back in November after registering a troublesome 7.43 ERA, 1.88 WHIP and a 12/6 K/BB ratio over 13 1/3 innings in 10 appearances with the M’s. With a strong showing in Cactus League play, he could crack the Halos’ Opening Day bullpen in a middle relief role.

Saucedo was designated for assignment Tuesday. Thornton suffered a torn Achilles over the summer, and isn’t expected to be ready until the middle of the 2026 season.

Saucedo loses his spot on Seattle’s 40-man roster after the club picked up reliever Alex Hoppe in a trade with the Red Sox. The 32-year-old southpaw struggled to a calamitous 7.43 ERA over 13 1/3 inning across 10 appearances this past season in the majors.

Saucedo goes back to Triple-A to make room for waiver claim José Castillo. He had a 7.43 ERA in 13 1/3 innings over 10 appearances.

With Logan Evans (elbow) hitting the injured list on Friday, Saucedo will return to add a fresh arm to the Mariners’ bullpen for at least a few days until Bryce Miller returns from the injured list to take Evans’ spot in the rotation. Saucedo holds a 7.71 ERA, 2.36 WHIP and a 4/3 K/BB ratio over 4 2/3 innings with the M’s this season.

Saucedo pitched in just one game in this stint with Seattle while firing a scoreless inning to end a 15-7 blowout. The 32-year-old will likely be back at some point this summer.

Saucedo is up with Carlos Vargas unavailable after being placed on the paternity list. He’s unlikely to work as anything more than a middle-inning option while he’s in Seattle.

Saucedo heads back to the minors following a one-game stint with the Mariners. The 31-year-old lefty figures to return at some point down the line.

Saucedo was ineffective in the early portion of 2025 and sent down to Tacoma, but the Mariners need the bullpen help and will hope the 31-year-old can find his form. He’ll work in the middle innings.
