Twins sent 1B/3B Jose Miranda, RHP Thomas Hatch, LHP Génesis Cabrera, RHP Michael Tonkin and LHP Anthony Misiewicz outright to Triple-A St. Paul.
No real surprises as Minnesota cleans up its 40-man roster heading into the offseason. Miranda is a notable name considering his former prospect status, but he hasn’t made an impact at the highest level since the 2024 season when he appeared in a career-high 121 games.

Thomas Hatch allowed one run in five innings and got the win in the Twins’ 8-1 victory over the Tigers on Sunday.
Hatch gave up three hits, walked three and struck out four. The 30-year-old right-hander allowed a double to Colt Keith and RBI single to Kerry Carpenter in the third inning, but otherwise kept the Tigers off the board. Hatch was making his first start of the season and first start in the big leagues since 2023 with the Pirates. He’s lined up to face the White Sox on the road next weekend if the Twins keep him in the rotation.

Thomas Hatch gave up four runs in 4 1/3 innings out of the pen Tuesday against the Yankees.
It’s a fifth-starter tandem for Minnesota. Hatch walked seven and threw 99 pitches tonight behind Travis Adams, who allowed four runs in 2 1/3 innings. Those two will keep jockeying for position until the Twins get enough injured pitchers back to fill out the rotation. They’ll probably again pitch Tuesday against the Tigers.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #62
Pierson Ohl was lit up for four runs in 2 2/3 innings in a start against the Tigers on Wednesday, but he didn’t factor in the decision.
Ohl made his first MLB start, and it didn’t go particularly well. He did strike out three, but of the four hits he allowed, three of them went over the fence. Ohl can provide value to an MLB staff as a multi-inning arm, but it’s hard to picture him ever having fantasy value. It’s worth noting Thomas Hatch was excellent in relief with 4 2/3 scoreless innings, and it could be Hatch and not Ohl who makes his next appearance as a starter.

Twins claimed RHP Thomas Hatch off waivers from the Royals.
Hatch will officially join Minnesota’s relief mix ahead of Tuesday’s game against the Tigers. The well-traveled 30-year-old was removed from Kansas City’s 40-man roster at last week’s trade deadline after the club brought in starters Ryan Bergert and Bailey Falter in separate moves.

Royals designated RHP Thomas Hatch for assignment.
Hatch’s latest stint with Kansas City lasted only a couple days before the club needed to free up roster spots for trade deadline acquisitions Bailey Falter and Ryan Bergert.

Royals selected the contract of RHP Thomas Hatch from Triple-A Omaha.
Hatch gets the call to fortify Kansas City’s bullpen depth ahead of Tuesday’s contest against Atlanta. The 30-year-old didn’t make an appearance for the Royals during a previous stint with the club back in early June.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #38
Royals sent RHP Thomas Hatch outright to Triple-A Omaha.
Hatch went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment earlier this week. The 30-year-old righty didn’t end up making an appearance for Kansas City during his brief stint with the club.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #38
Royals designated RHP Thomas Hatch for assignment.
The 30-year-old right-hander was recalled from Triple-A Omaha just before the first game of Thursday’s doubleheader and now finds himself in roster limbo despite the fact that he didn’t pitch in that contest. It seems likely that he’ll pass through waivers unclaimed and continue to function as depth for the Royals.

Royals recalled RHP Thomas Hatch from Triple-A Omaha.
Hatch had posted a 4.59 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 46/19 K/BB ratio in 51 innings (10 starts) at Triple-A. The Royals already have too many starting pitchers with Cole Ragans (groin) coming off the IL to start on Thursday, so this feels like Hatch coming up to be a long reliever out of the bullpen. Unless there was a change in plans with Ragans that hasn’t been mentioned yet.
