Rockies optioned RHP TJ Shook to Triple-A Albuquerque.

The 28-year-old hurler made three appearances during his brief stay with the Rockies, posting a 4.91 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and a 3/0 K/BB ratio while serving up a pair of homers in 3 2/3 innings of work. He was unlikely to be available on Sunday after throwing 33 pitches over 1 2/3 innings on Saturday though, so the Rockies decided to swap him out for a fresh arm. He should get another chance with the big league club before the summer is through.

Mets acquired RHP TJ Shook from the Brewers for LHP Tyler Jay.

After designating Jay for assignment earlier in the week, the Mets were happy to get anything that they could for him and wound up picking up a 26-year-old right-hander from the Brewers. Shook has spent the entire season at Double-A Biloxi where he has posted a 4.90 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and a 77/25 K/BB ratio over 64 1/3 innings in 17 appearances (11 starts). He’ll add organizational pitching depth for the Mets.
