Orioles acquired RHPs Tyson Neighbors and Tanner Smith, LHP Boston Bateman and INFs Brandon Butterworth, Victor Figueroa and Cobb Hightower from the Padres for 1B/DH Ryan O’Hearn and OF Ramon Laureano.
Neighbors, 22, was a fourth-round selection by the Padres from the 2024 draft class. He has already climbed to Double-A San Antonio this season where he has posted a 2.57 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and a 25/10 K/BB ratio across 21 innings in 14 appearances. He could move quickly through the O’s system and it’s not out of the question that he could debut before the 2025 season concludes.
