Victor Reyes has signed with the Lotte Giants of the Korea Baseball Organization.
Reyes will bring home $950,000 with his new contract with the Giants. The 29-year-old spent the 2023 season with the Triple-A affiliate of the White Sox, hitting .279/.330/.452 with 20 homers across 546 plate appearances, and will look to rebuild his value overseas.

Victor Reyes, who spent last year in Triple-A with the White Sox, is set to sign with the Lotte Giants of Korea.
Reyes is just a tad short of being an adequate reserve outfielder in the majors, and now that he’s 29, additional chances figured to be hard to come by. The switch-hitter came in at .264/.294/.379 in 1,280 plate appearances for the Tigers from 2018-22.

White Sox reassigned OF Victor Reyes, INF Moises Castillo, C Adam Hackenberg and RHPs Declan Cronin, Lane Ramsey and Jesse Scholtens to minor league camp.
Reyes has a decent amount of big league experience from his time with the Tigers, but he was always facing an uphill battle at a spot on the Opening Day roster. The 28-year-old hit .269 (7-for-26) with one RBI during Cactus League play.

  • INT Left Fielder #22
White Sox signed OF Victor Reyes to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The 28-year-old outfielder leaves the Tigers, but will stay in the division by joining the White Sox. He slashed an unimpressive .254/.289/.362 with three homers, 34 RBI and a pair of stolen bases in 336 underwhelming plate appearances during the 2022 season. He’s got decent bat-to-ball skills, but the power and speed are sorely lacking, making him an unappealing fantasy option.

  • INT Left Fielder #22
Tigers sent outfielder Victor Reyes outright to Triple-A Toledo.
Reyes is eligible for arbitration, so it makes sense that no one wanted him on waivers. He’ll draw more interest as a minor league free agent. The 28-year-old hit .254/.289/.362 in 336 plate appearances last season and .264/.294/.379 overall in five seasons for the club.

Victor Reyes delivered a walk-off sacrifice fly on Friday night, leading the Tigers to victory over the White Sox.
With the score tied 2-2 heading to the home half of the 10th inning, a sacrifice bunt attempt by Willi Castro was thrown away, allowing Ryan Kreidler to get to third base. Liam Hendriks then struck out Riley Greene, but Reyes picked him up by lofting a fly ball into center that was deep enough to score Kreidler. He finished the night 0-for-4 with that clutch RBI.

  • INT Left Fielder #22
Victor Reyes went 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBI on Saturday night, leading the Tigers to an 8-4 victory over the Royals in Kansas City.
Reyes crushed a go-ahead RBI triple off of Jonathan Heasley in the third inning then came around to score on an RBI double off the bat of Javier Báez. He then delivered a two-run single off of the Royals right-hander in the fifth inning that extended their advantage to 6-2. The former Rule-5 selection is having a pretty empty season at the plate overall, slashing .274/.307/.373 with only one homer, 25 RBI and two stolen bases in 280 plate appearances.

Victor Reyes went 2-for-4 and drove in a pair of runs on Wednesday afternoon, helping to lead the Tigers to victory over the Giants.
Reyes got the Tigers on the board with a two-out, two-run single off of Giants right-hander Logan Webb in the fifth inning. It would be the first of four straight RBI knocks during a six-run inning for the Tigers. With the two-hit attack, the former Rule-5 pick is slashing .279/.310/.367 with one homer, 23 RBI and a pair of stolen bases on the year.

  • INT Left Fielder #22
Victor Reyes delivered a go-ahead RBI single on Saturday, lifting the Tigers to a 4-3 victory over the Angels.

Victor Reyes singled in a run, walked twice and swiped a base against the Guardians on Wednesday.
Reyes wound up going 6-for-15 with three RBI and three walks in the four-game series against the Guardians, which is a nice improvement. Prior to that, he was 6-for-38 with one RBI and no walks during August.
