Braves sent OF Wilkin Ramirez outright to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Ramirez, who was acquired from the Tigers at the trade deadline last year, batted .231 (6-for-26) with two doubles and two RBI in three stints with the Braves this season. The 26-year-old outfielder can opt for free agency.

Hicks is dealing with a sore right elbow. He was hoping to be ready to play Sunday, but he’ll have to wait at least another day. Wilkin Ramirez is handling center field Sunday.

Ramirez has been taking batting practice this week and seems likely to begin a rehab assignment soon. He should be activated before the end of the month.
