Marlins optioned RHP Zach Brzykcy to Triple-A Jacksonville
Brzykcy was just called up on Monday to give the Marlins some fresh arms in the bullpen. He’ll now head down so the Marlins can call up Ryan Gusto to be a bulk reliever on Tuesday.

Marlins selected the contract of RHP Zach Brzykcy from Triple-A Jacksonville.
Brzykcy has a 5.24 ERA in 22 1/3 innings at Triple-A this season with a 26/12 K/BB ratio. He’s in his first season with Miami after spending his whole career in Washington. Andrew Nardi (ribs) was moved to the 60-day IL to create a roster spot.

Josh Ekness, who was called up on Friday but has yet to pitch, was seen on crutches following Sunday’s game.
Kevin Barral of Fish on First is reporting that the Marlins are calling up Zach Brzykcy to join the pen. It seems likely that Ekness landing on the IL will be the countermove.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #66
Marlins sent RHP Zach Brzykcy outright to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Brzykcy loses his spot on Miami’s 40-man roster in advance of next week’s Rule 5 Draft. The 26-year-old righty, who made a career-high 26 relief appearances this past season, was claimed off waivers from the Nationals last month. He’ll compete for a spot in the Marlins’ season-opening bullpen during spring training.

Marlins claimed RHP Zack Brzycky off waivers from the Nationals.
Brzycky, 26, gave up 23 earned runs in 23 innings for the Nationals last season, lowering his career ERA from 14.29 to 10.05. Subpar command of average stuff makes him seem like a pretty weak bet going forward.

Nationals optioned RHP Zach Brzykcy to Triple-A Rochester.
Brzykcy has a 9.00 ERA and has given up a whopping 12 homers in 23 innings of relief work for the Nationals this season. To put that in perspective, 11 starters who qualify for the ERA title have allowed fewer homers.

Nationals recalled RHP Zach Brzykcy from Triple-A Rochester.
Brzykcy rejoins Washington’s relief corps after veterans Andrew Chafin and Luis García were shipped to the Angels prior to Wednesday’s game against the Astros. The 26-year-old righty has registered an inflated 7.40 ERA across 20 2/3 innings (23 appearances) this season at the big-league level.

Nationals optioned RHP Zach Brzykcy to Triple-A Rochester.
Brzykcy returns to the minors with Mason Thompson coming off the injured list to rejoin Washington’s relief mix. The 25-year-old righty has struggled to a bloated 7.40 ERA across 20 2/3 innings (23 appearances) this season at the big-league level.

Nationals recalled RHP Zach Brzykcy from Triple-A Rochester.
Brzykcy has been up a handful of times this season already for doubleheaders, but he’s going to stick around a bit longer this time, it seems. The 25-year-old righty has made only one appearance for the Nationals this year, but has looked extremely sharp with a 2.35 ERA across eight relief outings in the minors.

Zach Brzykcy will serve as the Nationals’ 27th man in Tuesday’s doubleheader against the Guardians.
Brzykcy has yet to pitch in the majors this season; he missed the first month with a quad strain before being activated from the IL and sent down. The 25-year-old had a 14.29 ERA in six relief appearances for the Nationals last season.
