Stephane Lefebvre and Gabin Moreau were both hospitalized after suffering a high-speed crash during stage 10 of this weekend’s FIA World Rally Championship round in Germany.
Citroen driver Lefebvre and co-driver Moreau crashed out during the Panzerplatte stage on Saturday morning, prompting the rally to be stopped as medical crews attended the stricken DS 3 WRC car.
Both were taken to hospital and reported to be conscious after the crash, before rally officials issued a statement offering an update on their condition.
“The driver and co-driver of car number 10 were taken to hospital and examined after their accident in SS10,” ADAC Rallye Deutschland said.
“The examinations revealed fractures and internal injuries, so they will need to stay for residential treatment.
“According to the doctors, their injuries are not life-threatening.”
A statement on Lefebvre’s Facebook stage confirmed that Moreau had undergone surgery on his ankle following the accident.
