Sprint Cup driver Alex Bowman will replace John Wes Townley in the No. 25 Zaxby’s Chevrolet in Saturday’s Xfinity Series Lilly Diabetes 250 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Athenian Motorsports announced Thursday.

In a press release, the team said Townley aggravated a non-racing injury while competing in Wednesday night’s Camping World Truck Series race at Eldora Speedway.

Bowman, who races for Tommy Baldwin Racing, will be driving the No. 25 for the second time this year after taking it to a 14th-pace finish at Michigan International Speedway.

Currently fifth in the CWTS standings, Townley plans to return next weekend at Pocono Raceway.
