Ex-NBA player Nate Robinson is trying out as a defensive back for the Seahawks on Monday.
A first-round pick in 2005, Robinson’s NBA career lasted over a decade, but has fizzled out. He spent the spring playing in Israel. Robinson does have some football experience, ripping things up as a two-way high school star before making six starts at cornerback for the 2002 Washington Huskies. He then dropped the sport to concentrate on basketball. Only 5-foot-9, Robinson has legendary athletic ability, but it’s hard to view this as anything more than a lark. He turned 32 years old in May.

Updating a previous item, ex-NBA player Nate Robinson is actually trying to make it to the NFL as a receiver.
It’s at the advice of Seahawks coach Pete Carroll. Robinson participated in Seattle’s minicamp last month on a tryout basis as a defensive back, but apparently wasn’t hacking it as a defensive player. Robinson is working with WRs coach Dwayne Frampton, who has coached up Odell Beckham and DeSean Jackson in past offseasons. Robinson (5'9/180) is waiting for his next opportunity.
